Sicily johnston

Sicily Johnston is a second-year doctoral student in the Health Service Psychology program. She earned a B.S. in Psychology with a Minor in Criminal Justice while playing collegiate softball and being a choir member at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, MO. Her current research focuses on identifying barriers to care, mental health outcomes, and the unique experiences of Latina women across a multitude of factors. Specifically, she is interested in better understanding the role of culture, discrimination, and perceptions of Latina women to better inform treatment for this population. Clinically, Sicily is passionate about working with diverse and underserved adolescents with a focus in forensics and trauma-focused interventions. Outside hobbies include spending time with her puppies and family, being outdoors, or reading a good psychological thriller book!
